A Place I Visited
Last year on December 10, I paid a visit to an emerging tourist spot regarded as "Queen of Hills and The Kingdom of Clouds", Sajek Valley. It is situated in Sajek union, Baghaichhari upazila in Rangamati district. I was accompanied by my family members including my father, mother, elder sister, and some of my relatives (cousins, brothers-in-law, their children). I along with my family members decided to go there mainly to freshen up our minds, enrich our storehouse of knowledge, gather real-life experiences. Besides removing the dullness of mind that occurred due to monotonous life, we thought of getting to know more about the enchanting beauty of nature with our own eyes. Moreover, practical knowledge can put bookish knowledge in the long-term memory of the brain. Because of all these reasons, we went to that heaven. We left from Dhaka to our destination very early in the morning. We got a bunch of bus tickets of 'Shanti Paribahan'.Our journey lasted for almost 8 hours. On the way of going there, we saw different places, people and the scenic beauty of nature. After arriving in Dighinala, we immediately went to the camp of BGB(Bangladesh Border Guard). And it is the largest BGB camp in Bangladesh. We wrote up our names and additional information there. Then, we departed from there with the "escort" of the army through a zeep locally called "Chander Gari".In the middle of our way, we visited "Hazajhara Fountain" in Baghaighati. At last, we reached our destination and were amazed by the view of mountainous areas. Sajek valley is a heaven of nature for the people loving nature and travelling. I lost myself in the astonishing charm of hills, clouds, and evergreen nature. I along with my family members liked and enjoyed it there. We saw those houses of ethnic people made with fence and tin coloring in green and red which portrayed our national flag color in "Runlui Para".From the Konglak para (1800 foot higher from the sea), we got to see almost the whole Rangamati. That's why it is called the "Roof of Rangamati".From viewing the awesome sunset, sunrise, the shiny moon, the chirping of birds, the cloud kingdom to the refreshing environment, this place was certainly a must-visit place for us. And this can be our next international and national tourist destination being a great treasure and blessing for us. In addition, we learned about the lifestyle and culture of the ethnic minorities named, "Lushai", "Pankhua", "Tripura".We also lived in their houses and had "Bamboo Chicken" with "Zoom Vat" there. This was an unforgettable memory for all of us.
