to choose flowers from these because all of them are equally colorful and
beautiful. Some of the winter flowers are Aster, Daisy, Cosmos, Salvia, Pansy,
Dianthus, Phlox, Verbena, Carnation, Calendula, Morning glory, Hollyhocks,
Gerbera, Azalea, Sunflowers and different varieties of Mari-Gold and so on.
Besides these, there are different colors of Roses and
Marigolds in different varieties like Inca Marigold, Jumbo Marigold, China
Marigold, Safari Red Marigold, etc.
For hanging tubs, you can choose Nasturtium, Petunia, Aster, etc. If you want a creeping flower plant for your gate or veranda you can choose Purple Wreath, Morning Glory, Sweet pea, and so on. These plants will decorate your place with scenic beauty.
How to prepare a winter flower garden
Collect tubs: First
of all, you have to collect appropriate tubs. You have to take tubes according
to the size of your plants.
There are different sizes and shapes of tubs available in
the market. Generally, we use earthen tubs. But now tubs made of different
materials like ceramic, glass, plastic, etc. are available. But we must make a
pore under the pot. This is very important for your plants.
If we have enough free places or a garden we can plant the
seedlings in the ground too.
Prepare the soil: Loamy soil is best for winter flowers. For
each tub, we need loamy soil with one-third of organic fertilizer, a hand full
of crushed bones or calcium powder, two spoons of lime and you also can add a
little amount of ash, according to your soil condition.
Plant the seedlings: If we want to plant saplings, we should
choose around one or two months aged young fresh saplings.
Irrigation: After planting the seedlings, the base soil
should be hardened with pressure. Then the irrigation is a must because winter
is a dry season, but excessive irrigation is harmful.
Plowing: It is better to plow the soil at the bottom of the
tree without crushing the soil so much. Its depth will be 3-10 cm or 1-4
inches. This should be done once every ten days.
Fertilizers: When the buds start coming, mix 50 g TSP, 100 g
urea, and 25 g MOP, and give this one teaspoon to each plant at 10-day
intervals. There is no need to apply this chemical fertilizer more than three
times in one season. Any fertilizer should not fall on the roots in any way.
