A picnic or
a school excursion or
A historical place you visited
A picnic is an occasion when people pack a meal and take it to eat outdoors, especially in the countryside. A picnic may be held in different forms, say study tour, pleasure trip or family outing. Going on a picnic is a pleasant experience for any student. Our school organizes picnic every year. The picnic party I enjoyed early this year is a memorable event in my life. I have many sweet memories regarding last year’s picnic.
Teachers chose Mohasthangarh as the picnic spot. It was an exciting adventure for us. They selected the place as a picnic spot for historical importance. It was winter morning. We started our journey from Dhaka by a long –haul bus. All the Teachers and staff accompanied us. We enjoyed the bus journey very much. We sang songs and had fun all the way. It took around four hours to reach the spot.
A delicious languor stole over us, but we were not cheerless. We were singing different chorus songs and numbers. Some told us interesting jokes while travelling. We could not realize when we reached the spot. After reaching we took some snacks. Then we visited the entire area in hordes. Teachers informed us the history of Mohasthangarh, the then capital of the Gupta and Maurya dynasties. The place smells of historical remnants.
We came to learn myths about Sheila Devi, Parshuram and the bridal chamber of Behula-Lakkhinder. The historical sites at the hilly parts of the area and the archaeological museum are worth-visiting. We also visited famous Shilaidah gat. The holy grave of Shah Sultan Balky (Rh) is also eye-catering. We offered fathead at the mazar for the departed soul of the great saint.
We managed to escape from the peaks and troughs of the chaotic city life and visited a historic site. A picnic is a part of edutainment. It helps students to succeed in their academic career. They can gather empirical knowledge. However, we had a nice picnic. What we achieved from the tour is a great bonhomie. It will remain etched in the forefront of our mind as a big do in my school life. I enjoyed to my heart’s content. It will remain fresh in my mind to my dying day.
